- Maidstone Conservatives have selected me as their candidate for the forthcoming Kent County Council By-Election in Maidstone North East. I am 44 years old, married to Martin and have lived in Kent all my life. I spent 25 years in the civil service where I became Deputy Head of Finance & Governance in the South East for the Department for Work& Pensions. Since leaving the civil service in 2005, I took up my passion for the environment by setting up a local Woodland Action Group, striving to preserve woodland from destruction by off road vehicles and fly tipping.
